Is this message board still active? Am WAY behind everyone else here. Have just now filed a Green Form, for various reasons, despite having registered years ago. I had mitral repair surgery a few years ago and have a good case. The main question is whether I am on the A or the B Matrix. Can I complete this process without hiring an attorney?

No one seems to be active lately and I collected my money years ago but I would go talk with an attorney to get his opinion if I were you. He may or may not feel you need an attorney but he can give you advice anyway. I hope everything goes well with you. It might be a good idea if you let anyone that comes on here what happened in your case. I'm sure people come on just to browse and see if anyone was commented on anything and they would like to know.

I forgot to mention Mitral valve surgery. I would think that you should be on matrix A considering the surgery but it has been so many years since I read anything about it.

Thanks for the response. As I said, I did have mitral valve repair surgery. But if I read the documents correctly I am likely on the B Matrix rather than the A. I find this frustrating, because I took the drugs for over 60 days and I had a series of echos performed after taking them. Six months after taking the drugs, my heart was in perfect condition, and then it deteriorated to moderate regurgitation within one year and severe within two years. So I was clearly FDA Positive, and all within the required time frame. However, it looks like I get thrown into the B Matrix because I also had Mitral Valve Prolapse, as defined in the 7th Amendment and on the Blue Form. While the docs seems clear on that, I sure don't understand why: my heart was in excellent condition until shortly after taking the drugs, with no regurgitation or MVP. And then it deteriorates regularly until I eventually need the heart repair. My issue now is whether to hire an attorney in hopes of finding a rationale of getting onto the A matrix, or just settling on the B Matrix. In other words, of course, is it worth giving up 40% plus expenses of any settlement in order to try to push for the A.

Hi Behind the times guest, I see what you mean about the A matrix and B matrix. What is the difference in the amount of money from each matrix? I guess at this point I might try just getting some money before it is all over. Let me know what you decide and what Avenue you are going. I wish you the best of luck. If you have any questions that I might be able to answer let me know. I check here every couple weeks or so.

I almost never check the boards any more. I got paid and if you get a lawyer you will be stuck in class action hell forever. I used the class counsel as a lawyer for what to file and when. They did most of it for me. A lawyer is the kiss of death in this thing Good luck

I would talk with a phen-fen attorney if I were you. He/she will know what you should do. I would not try and do it yourself at this time. It is so late in the game and it will be nice for you if you would get some money out of this. let me know how you do.
